Saturday, June 20th at 10a.m. -11a.m. Jeff appeared on FoxBusinessNews distinguished panel of 4 discussing the Healthcare Reform draft proposal by President Obama. The lively TV show took call-in questions and discussion amongst the panelists.

Much work and negotiating on both sides of the aisle are needed before a final reform is passed. Neither party is going to be completely satisfied in the final outcome but by working together a bipartisan healthcare much needed healthcare reform is finally likely.

Again, it was reiterated that patients and doctors need to work closely together-consumer  empowerment in healthcare. Healthcare consumer literacy is so vital in this whole process. We can no longer be oblivious to all that has and is going on in the healthcare arena.

Welcome to my blog site!! . My publisher (DC Press) recently released my new book, Navigating the Healthcare Maze: What You Need to Know. At the same time, I’m launching this new blog site– and I’m hoping that you will respond with your opinions (I can take it!) and own experiences.

Sitting here in front of the computer screen…the question is always: what topic to select:healthcare is so complex today. Whenever, you take a complex scenario and include humans, errors will occur. There are so many subjects within the book that I could expound on. But it’s important that we keep the discussions timely and highly relevant.

With the US going through the pain of bad economic times, a society already over medicated and healthcare a complex maze, we are and will see more people going to doctors and hospitals increasing the opportunities for errors, and on the other hand people NOT going to doctors and hospitals with the mental anguish and minor ailments that could develop into more serious issues..because they cannot afford healthcare during these times or have lost their health company insurance.

How can this possibly happen in the US..but it has!!

I sincerely hope you send as many experiences, ideas and things that have worked for you when you’ve been involved with the healthcare maze. I promise to answer each and everyone of your responses. There are solutions that will work and together we can make bad situations better. We can also make good situations even better.

Today the key words we must remember we are preoccupied on our personal financial health as well and  we must be better prepared for all situations and become more empowered than ever before.
